Island Girls, Music and Comedy, featuring four of Cape Breton’s most beloved female performers: Bette MacDonald, Heather Rankin, Lucy MacNeil and Jenn Sheppard, is back on tour in April 2020.

After a highly successful debut as a Savoy Theatre fundraiser in September 2018, the show expanded its reach last spring, playing to sold-out houses in Halifax, Mabou and Pictou. Audience reaction has been off the charts. Says Savoy Theatre Manager Pam Leader, “We’ve never had a show quite like Island Girls. I’m not sure any of us knew what to expect but what we got was epic. People could not say enough about the quality of the show and the performances.”

And now the powerhouse foursome are set to once again combine their talents to bring the best of Cape Breton music and comedy to venues across the Maritimes.

The show delivers some of Cape Breton’s most beloved musical treasures, some tributes, stories, comedy and a trip down memory lane. Multi-award-winning comedy giant, Bette MacDonald joins Barra MacNeils’ vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, Lucy MacNeil; Heather Rankin of the multi-platinum selling group The Rankin Family; and singer/songwriter and Summertime Revue cast member, Jenn Sheppard – one of Cape Breton’s busiest performers. Their back-up band is led by veteran musicians Stephen Muise and Fred Lavery. The show is at once heartwarming, hilarious, surprising and as one audience member said, “has so

many hair-standing-up-on-the-back-of-your-neck moments”!
