JOE H HENRY
“One of the brightest new lights on the east coast music scene”
Troy Greencorn, Artist Director, Stanfest/Executive Director
Joe H Henry’s cannonball voice and captivating songwriting has been turning heads on the east coast since he settled here just 2 years ago.
His second EP, Real Things, was released in March, following a successful debut recording Keep The Fire Burning, which brought him several Music Nova Scotia nominations. Joe’s unforgettable voice and ability to engage his audiences through vivid story-telling – filled with startling and heart-warming real-life adventures, is second to none. It has brought him a third consecutive trip to Stanfest; along with seminal appearances including Cavendish Beach, Halifax Urban Folk Festival, Lunenburg Folk Harbour Fest, sold-out shows at the Carleton, Canada Day concerts, and an appearance at Scotiabank Arena alongside Matt Mays, Joel Plaskett and Classified. Joe performed at the Woodford Festival ‘24 in Australia and is returning for a month-long tour of Australia this October.
Joe was nominated for ECMA Blues Artist of the Year 2024 and is a three-time Music Nova Scotia nominee including Americana and Indigenous Artist of the Year 2024. With the upcoming release of his new album “Real Things” Joe will be touring eastern Canada and Ontario starting at the Carleton Restaurant, Halifax in March.
